In the mid 1960's, Jewelry designer Sid Fey was asked to create a special gift for a client's parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. So, the first Birthstone Family Tree was born in Downers Grove, Illinois. The client told us that people at the party wept with tears of pride and joy. From that party, several other Trees were made by hand. The manufacturing process still requires a lot of hand work, but the volume of orders from all over the world has necessitated development of new engraving techniques to produce the Birthstone Family Tree. Those same technologies are used today to create your Family Tree.
